WHO? Alina Lodge is offering a five-day residential program for people wanting to resolve codependency and family of origin issues.

If your life has been negatively affected in any of the following areas by someone's alcoholism, drug addiction or other compulsive behavior, this program is for YOU:

This program is also for YOU if you are looking to enhance your journey of recovery by addressing your own codependency and family of origin issues.

WHAT? This program is customized to the participants' needs and issues, based on individual assessment and treatment planning.

The format is interactive and includes didactic presentations, group discussions, therapeutic activities, individual counseling and suggested personalized assignments.

WHERE? Alina Lodge is located in Blairstown, NJ, which is in the rural western part of the state, in the foothills of the Kittatinny Mountains.

It is renowned for its traditional style and direct approach to treatment issues of all kinds. "The Alina Experience" has benefited the lives of thousands of addicted people and their families for over four decades.

FACILITATORS: Jim and Karen Mell, the director and assistant director of Step Ahead, Inc., will facilitate our program. Both Jim and Karen are NJ Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors, each with over 30 years of experience in the chemical dependency field.

Jim developed one of the first, on-site residential family programs in the country at Alina Lodge in 1973 and has remained a leader in this field. Step Ahead, Inc. is a nonprofit outpatient counseling and education service for substance abusers and their loved ones, with offices in Succasunna, Blairstown and Summit, NJ.

Alina Lodge Family Director Donna Pittala, a Master's Level Clinician who has worked in the field for eleven years, will join the Mells. The peaceful, serene setting offers an ideal place for healing. The restriction of outside stimuli such as telephones, faxes and computers allows the participant the opportunity to address their issues without distraction. The focus on balanced living, which includes good nutrition, combined with moderate exercise and rest, are seen as essentials for recovery, and will be emphasized throughout your stay.

WHEN? The program will be offered February 23rd. Participants will arrive at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 23rd and depart at 3 p.m. Friday, February 28th.

FEE: The cost for the five-day program, including all meals, lodging and program materials, is $1,000. The fee is non-refundable and is to be paid prior to registration.

DIRECTIONS: FROM NEW YORK/NEWARK: Take Route 80 West to Exit 12 (Blairstown/Hope). At end of ramp follow Blairstown sign onto Route 521 North. Travel full length (approx. 6 mi.) to Route 94. Turn left to first traffic light (approx. 300 yds.) Take sharpest right at traffic light, continuing on Route 521 North for approx. 2 miles to the intersection of Spring Valley Road. Turn right onto Spring Valley Road. Take quick right onto Ward's Road and travel 1 1/2 miles to Alina Lodge entrance (on left.) Park in the main parking lot.

FROM WEST/PA.: Take Route 80 East to Exit 4C (Blairstown/ Rt. 94 North). Travel approx. 8 mi. on Route 94 North to second traffic light. Make an oblique left at the light onto Route 521 North and follow directions above.

DRESS CODE: Our dress code for all visitors to Alina Lodge is casual clothes for the day and dress clothes for dinner. Jackets and ties for the gentlemen and dresses or skirts for the ladies are required in the dining room. The Lodge is a completely smoke free environment, nicotine patches may be used.
